I'm stitched up!

It's been such a long wait to 6th June. I'm now officially "cerclaged". Contrary to what I thought, I didn't feel instantly relieved after the procedure. The nurses and my gynae were very cautious and repeatedly told me that the first two days were the high risk period as they've done a procedure at the cervix which disturbs the uterus and may trigger off a contraction. So for now, I have to faithfully take my anti-contraction medication - salbutamol.

When I first got the prescription, I thought salbutamol sounded suspiciously familiar. Suddenly my mind connected and I remember that's exactly the same medicine (exact spelling) as fu's anti-wheezing cough medicine dr bel prescribed just before he was diagnosed with mycoplasma pneumonia. So I googled "salbutamol" and found that other than treating asthma or airway related allergies for children, it also has an obstetric function of relaxing the uterus.

Despite the abovementioned risk, I remember my first thought when I woke up in the recovery room after the effects of the GA was "I'm getting a step closer to full-term delivery". Gently stroking my tummy, I almost wished time will just fast forward to Nov..
