the ring..

no no, this is not a post about the japanese scary movie.. it's about the accessory you wear on your finger.. :P

Well, not exactly just an accessory, as it also serves another function. It sends out different signals to different pple depending on which finger you wear your ring on. Generally in Singapore, on index finger means divorced, middle finger means single, 4th finger (left hand) means married, (right hand) means engaged.

I remember I told a classmate (who's single and attractive) to do herself and other men a favour to either wear her diamond ring on the middle finger or take it out completely (she was wearing it on her right ring finger) unless she doesnt want to get hitched. I also know of some who do not like to wear their wedding bands and some husband and wife dont even own a pair. Well, of cos it's a personal choice.

To me the ring is an important symbolisation especially for those who are married. It's not just a sense of identity, it's a commitment to your spouse. I find it even more important for those who are physically attractive to wear wedding ring to ward off unwanted suitors. I wear mine not cos I think I'll attract other suitors, I wear mine because I'm married and I feel very happy and blissed about it. :)
