removing his shoes) is to wash his hands. Being a bubbly and easily tickled
boy, he often laughs and chuckles whenever he's doing that especially when
some water gets splashed on his face. While laughing and chuckling away,
one of his classmates arrived. A small-built little girl.
She went "stop laughing!".
Fu stopped laughing momentarily, out of shock. I was also shocked with the
girl's commands and asked her "why?". I had to give her mother, who was
just next to her, some "face" and held back on questioning her too much.
Fu continued to wash his hands and after a while, started to chuckle again.
"THAT's ENOUGH!" the little girl said (both to fu's and my surprise).
"Why? Why must we stop laughing?" (I tried to sound as friendly as I
could)
".... "
The little girl then passed a piece of paper towel to Fu and I wonder
whether that's her way of being apologetic.
When I left the school, I was feeling for my boy who was being commanded to
stop being his happy self. I started to feel angry with the little girl for
her unreasonable command and even angrier with the mother for not doing
anything. I started to think whether the mother wanted the little ones to
settle their own disputes on their own? Then suddenly, my anger towards the
little girl subsided. I started to feel sorry for the little girl instead.
I figured that she must had learnt that somewhere, possibly she was laughing
happily and was being asked to "STOP LAUGHING!" without being given a proper
explanation.
then.. I started to wonder.. am I guilty of that too? Had I ever
"commanded" Fu to stop doing somethings without giving him an explanation?
Are you guilty?
