I wonder if this is a global phenomenon..?
Today the crowded bus I was taking came into an abrupt stop. This teenage schoolgirl next to be lost her balance and swirved to my side and was pushing against me for a good 3 seconds until the bus came to a complete stop. When that happened, she promptly stood back to her position looking out of the window. I don't think it's wrong to lose balance and push against someone next to you in a bus but to just look straight out "woodily" without apologising after that?? What happened to the basic manners?
The more I looked at her.. The more woody her stare out her window became. I couldn't wait any longer.
Me: shouldn't you at least say sorry?
Wood : *turned to look at me, smiled, shaking her head (she's indian)* sorry
Me: I thought that's very basic manners.
As I walked to my destination still feeling appalled by the woody behavior, I approached the lift while others were moving in. Then.. The lift doors started to close and I promptly pressed the lift call button. The doors opened and guess what I saw inside?
3 pieces of wood standing strong and tall.
