#4

I don't know when or how 4 became fu's favourite number. It did not occur to me till recently that having a favourite number is really quite useful.

Fu: Mummy may I have some cheezels please?
I often find his requests hard to reject. Kids really know how to work their charm. He asks for what he wants in his sweetest voice and cutest expression.
This morning he brought the whole jumbo cheezels pack to me with that question and I found myself stretching out my lips to ask for a kiss while opening the jumbo pack for him.
Me: Only 4 ok?
He'll happily agree, gesturing four with his fingers and we'll happily put a cheezels ring onto each finger.

On weekday afternoons when he takes his naps, for some unknown reasons, he will sometimes oversleeps. Worried that he'll have difficulty falling asleep at night, I'll disturb him so he'll wake up. A negotiation process follows.
Me: boy.... boyy....
Fu would peep through the corners of his eyes.
Me: time to wake up. (He shakes his head). Ok, 4 more minutes ok? (he nods)
I'll leave the room to let him have his 4 minutes and very soon (sometimes only to the count of four), he'll sit up and go, "Mummy! It's FOUR Minutes!".

Today, as other weekends, fu's the first to wake up. He walked towards ky, stood in front of his face and whispered, "daddy, I want to change." A tired ky pointed to his mattress to prompt him to sleep longer. That was when something interesting happened. He tilted his face towards ky's face, widened his eyes and whispered while nodding to daddy, "ok, 4 more minutes ok?". Satisfied, he walked to his mattress while I smiled to myself and closed my blurry eyes.
