I almost died

Random fu asked to sit at the rear right seat (my usual seat) with ting in the centre and me on the left. All were happy until we reached our carpark and i couldnt believe what I saw with my own eyes.

I saw fu feeding ting the cover of the seat belt clip (size of a five cent coint but almost 1cm thick). I saw the cover disappear into ting's mouth. I yelled and squeezed ting's cheek in an attempt to stop her from swallowing but it was too late. I couldn't find anything with my finger. Ting let out a cry in panic and i held her close to me hoping the object would not obstruct her breathing.

We rushed to the clinic downstairs which was still open and asked to see the doc immediately. While I half ran to the clinic from the carpark with ting in my arma i was so worried that something very wrong can happen to my precious daughter. Flashback of her hospital days in the incubator and when she was just r
1.5kg appeared in my mind. We've come this far I would literally stop living should anything happen to ting.

I was very annoyed with the clinic assistants for wanting me to fill up their registration form and i kept telling them i want to skip it. After several pleas, the doctor came out hurriedly and examined ting. While describing to her the size of the object I asked ky if he could go back to the car to look for the other seatbelt cover to show the doc. She couldnt find anything in ting's mouth and asked us to send ting to KKH to take an xray. Since she didnt seem to be in distress then she said the best outcome would be that she passes it out in her motion. She quickly wrote a referral letter and told us to get immediate attention when we reach the A&E.

With that, ky went to get the car while i waited for the letter and made payment. Just before i left the clinic, ky called me to ask if there are only 2 seat belt covers in the car. Yes, i remember clearly there are just 2 in total as we only bought a pair of them. I was so relieved that both were found.

When we asked fu why he did that he said "cos ting has nothing". Of cos he didnt do it maliciously. It was an innocent act. He clearly saw how distressed I was and immediately realised what he did was very wrong. After he did his corner, i explained to him that what he did was very very wrong and it was very very dangerous. Having discussed the topic of death during my gmil's passing and when wakes are held at the void deck, i explained that one can die with choking. He came very close to my face while i was talkingto him and was very serious throughout and gave me many apologetic kisses. He apologised to ting and when asked whether he loves ting and whether he'll protect her, he replied, "Yes I love tingting, yes I will protect her" without hesitation.
