Every activity is a competition. From drinking milk, to holding hands, to changing to school uniforms, to taking showers and reaching our door step, there's no way that they will allow their sibling to get ahead of them. Each activity is thus filled with breath-stopping dashes and ear-piercing screams (from ting) and laughters (from fu).
Tonight they had to compete on "who gets to be read their book first". Feeling a little tired and very gloomy after reading Erjie's blog, I almost felt like running away from them.
Fortunately I did not and I turned to them, "mummy doesn't know who to read to first you know? Who wants to be read to second?"
"Me!" came an immediate reply from ting. I was surprised and asked again just to be sure and ting repeated the same. Even so I was still not sure whether she really understood what I meant. Then fu interrupted, "no I will be read to second."
Thank you for your understanding my children.
This perhaps is a reminder that there's really no need to act strong and know-it-all all the time. In fact showing my sense of lost gave them a chance to show empathy.. and be nice.

That is certainly a little reward for your patience and persistence towards them! Watch out! More to come! Record down what Fu does to Ting so he can read them and laugh at himself when he becomes a dad! Your erjie feels better already, don't feel too gloomy. Can't stay sad for too long in a house full of happy boys that make nonsense all day long!
