long weekends part I

I’ve been taking some days off from work to clear some leave. Taking Mondays off was a natural choice as it means I’ll get a long weekend plus I can beat Monday blues. :)

Two Mondays (9 June)ago was first of my two such day offs. I asked fu where he’d like to go and “the playground” was his instant reply. He was referring to the indoor playground at the E!hub. Knowing how strenuous it is for an adult to creep and crawl inside the indoor playground actually worried me a little the night before. Still, we proceeded to the E!hub as promised :)

The energetic boy sprung into action immediately, “mummy come, mummy come.. mummy help me..”. We took the slides so many times I lost count. We also went to the ball pools to wind down and had lunch after that. We took a double decker bus 21 back to popo’s house and we sat right in front of the upper deck. This was fu’s second time sitting in a double-decker bus but the first time he’s sitting on the upper deck. First time was when he sprained his ankle and he insisted on taking the bus rather than a taxi.

It was a really slowww moving bus… I was struggling to keep awake in the afternoon heat. He would shake my arm, “mummy, you’re not sleepy” whenever he saw my eyes closing. When we passed by the sinseh’s clinic which his ankle was treated, I asked him,

“do you remember this place?”
“yes, there’s a doctor there..”

Nearer to our destination, a tinee winee caterpillar got stuck at the outside of the windscreen and that reminded it of another worm that appeared on his handkerchief..

It was really good one-on-one time and there wasn’t a single moment I didn’t enjoy his company. My lack of writing skills also mean that I don’t know how to translate the feeling into this blogpost. I had such a wonderful time, I believe I had more fun than he did. He’s such an angel when we’re out together, such a darling..

I filled up the rest of the day swimming with jenny, taking the wrong buses with her, having dinner with eng and her.. but in my mind, it’s only filled up with images of my darling boy.. (sorry jenny and eng :P )
