It's not the first time I dropped my ring...
I dropped it during our honeymoon. I remember it very clearly. I was getting off the coach and cos it was cold, I flicked my hand, with the intention of bringing down my jacket sleeves and pioawwww.... my ring fell... AND! It went into a very deep drain. What's more, the drain cover was not openable. Everyone in the tour group were crowding around the drain to look for it. Someone had a torchlight and spotted it from above (it was getting dark).
Luckily, a local told us that the drain could be accessed through some opening in the basement carpark next to where the coach was. He even went down and.. phew... my ring was retrieved. With some scars of course. We took some pictures on the following day of the spot. I remember someone viewed our pictures and asked why we took that pic. Ha..
Then not long ago, ky almost lost his ring, that resulted in the "rough wear ring" I bought for our anniversary :P. Another close shave.
Seems like the adventures of our wedding bands didnt end there. I was fiddling with my ring in my colleague's car on the way to lunch. Examining a new scratch and in a split second, it dropped off from my clumsy fingers and just like the golf hole-in-ones, it went straight into the hole where the seat belt buckle comes out from the seats. My helpful colleague with the tiniest had volunteered to slip her hand in but there was no way to reach the ring.
Luckily my resourceful colleague kindly drove his car to his friend's workshop. He called and asked if there's any diamond (i almost wanted to lie to him that there is but was too paiseh to say that cos i had already created enough trouble for him). I spotted his perspiration on his forehead when he came back to the office and I couldnt thank him more.
Ahh.. a pity that 4D didnt strike...
I hope it'll be the last of our wedding band adventure!
